Celebrating #IWD2024

In acknowledging International Women’s Day, Regionality is celebrating the individual women across Australia who have stepped up, innovated, and diversified their family businesses, their regions, and their industries with huge benefit.

By investing in women and their ideas, we are accelerating progress – we can see this in real time in the day-to-day operations of our business. Through mentorship, capacity-building and strategic planning we are working to tangibly elevate and showcase women doing great things in Regional Australia, improving outcomes for everyone.

The women inspiring us

Marion and Cynthea Semmens from Marion’s Vineyard in the Tamar Valley, TAS

They represent two generations of strong, passionate and leading women in wine operating the state’s oldest cellar door, and inspire visitors with food and wine experiences by bringing the island cultures of Cypress and Tasmania together to create a beautiful confluence unique to their story.

Clare Lee from Windy Station Woolshed on the Liverpool Plains, NSW

Clare is leading the charge to preserve a local heritage icon and driving the diversification of not only Windy Station’s business model but those of farms and small communities across the region through her work with The Plains Inc.

Kay Tommerup from Tommerup’s Dairy Farm at the Scenic Rim, QLD

Kay has created opportunities for the next generation through business diversification, and now advocates for industry innovation and change as Vice President of Queensland Farmers’ Federation and a board member of eastAUSmilk.

Rosalind Vodusek from Rich Glen Olive Estate in Yarrawonga, VIC

Ros is constantly innovating, forging new connections with other producers and championing the work of others through her retail, online and social media channels.

Suzette Garden who works in Local Government in Central QLD

A quiet achiever working behind-the-scenes every day on behalf of farmers and her community, Suzette is passionately advocating for sustainable agricultural innovation for her region.

Teigan Priest from Twyllo Flower Farm in Tharwa, ACT

Teigan is using regenerative farming techniques to diversify her family farm and blaze a trail for the region’s cut flower farmers, and collaborates with other Canberra businesses to showcase the region and what it’s capable of.

The women of Regionality salute these women – and all women – across the country and the world who are thought-leaders, changemakers and drivers of innovation.
