Shannon is a first-generation farmer from the Central Coast NSW. Shannon and his family own a 53 acre property and also manage 3 other properties totaling 140 acres.
Living in suburbia 6 years ago, a defining moment was when Shannon was looking for a frog with his son Rhye in their backyard to show the wonders of nature to the next generation. As they got close to the fence where they tracked the frog down, the neighbour over the fence sprayed the frog with fly-spray as it was ‘keeping him up at night’. It was this little moment, along with finding videos and books of Polyface Farm in America that led him down a journey of disconnecting with the rat-race and falling in love with regenerative farming.
Shannon and his family have since built a thriving integrity-food farm, with 100 head of cattle, 1200 egg-laying chickens, 1000 meat chickens, 40 pigs and an on-site butchery. Their meat and eggs are sold through meet points around the Central Coast and Sydney, as well as home deliveries to NSW, ACT, QLD and VIC.
