I love living in our rural community.
Born and bred in the Wakool district on a mixed rice, cropping and stud limousin cattle property, I farm free range Berkshire pigs at Barham, on the Murray River, with my husband and 3 young kids. We have been doing our own butchery since 2013, first on farm and now in Barham where we also handcraft small goods and charcuterie, distribute our goods across the Eastern seaboard, run a small deli, provide farm tours, masterclasses and a farm stay.
Thriving on collaborating with other farmers, producers and likeminded brands, I have strong ethical values for animal welfare and the environment. I am a director and co-founder of the Murray Plains Meat Cooperative – formally established in 2019 to build a micro-multi-species abattoir in Barham – owned 100% by local farmers. There is a bright future for agriculture and food security in Australia, and, as a business person and individual, I am committed to contributing to the industry for the good.
